Murals

Murals must be horizontally oriented, 3 ft x 4 ft, with a 4 in border. They should be original and all areas tied to the chosen theme. Material should be well-researched, imaginative, well-designed, pleasing to the eye, and have good craftsmanship. By definition, a mural is “a painting or other work of art executed directly on a wall” – or for our purposes, on paper.

Lower Division: Class of 2026 and Class of 2025

Banners

Banners must be vertically oriented and the entire length provided. They are on natural colored canvas. They should be original and all areas tied to the chosen theme. Material should be well-researched, imaginative, well-designed, pleasing to the eye, and have good craftsmanship. Banner, by definition, is “a long strip of cloth bearing a slogan or design, hung in a public place.” The bottom of the banner must be shaped in one of three traditional shapes and maintain the length. It may be cut into a V, two Vs, or rounded.

Costumes and Crowns

Two class representatives will wear costumes and crowns. Costumes should portray class theme well, be tailored to fit class representatives, have good quality, be colorful, imaginative, and appropriate. They must be original student creations for each Founders’ Day (not purchased or made for another class or purpose.) Shape of crowns should be graceful, impressive, neat, elegant, and sturdy enough to be worn. They should portray the class theme well and enhance costumes. Costumes and crowns should coordinate well.
