Whit Van Meter joined Thetford Academy in 2012. He is a multi-talented special educator, supporting students both academically and musically. Whit has a master of fine arts in music composition with a jazz focus from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and a bachelor’s of music in jazz composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston. In years prior to teaching at Thetford, Whit coached boys lacrosse at TA, and also interned with Greg Mellinger en route to earning his teaching license. Whit is a licensed music teacher and has taught Kindergarten through 12th grade music in public school as well as improvisation and Jazz history at the college level.
