Robin Pettingell

Physical Education, Sports Medicine

Arriving at TA in 1987, Robin Pettingell is one of the longest serving teachers at Thetford Academy. She has a BS in sociology and outdoor recreation from Houghton College. In addition to teaching, Robin is an AEMT/FF at the Thetford Volunteer Fire Department, where she once had the pleasure of delivering a baby.

Robin has hiked all of the 4000-foot mountains in New Hampshire, fished in Alaska, and accompanied TA students to Costa Rica to study environmental science.

Throughout her tenure at TA, Robin has coached soccer, basketball, field hockey, golf, and softball.

She enjoys the enthusiasm and energy of her students, and the “positive, fun interactions in class, as well as the respect the kids have for each other.”

“Consider that the mind is capable of an endless growth.”—Asa Burton, one of the founders, urging citizens of Thetford to establish TA in 1819
