Rebecca Walter joined TA in 2012. She has a BA in psychology from the University of Notre Dame, an M.Ed. in gifted education curriculum and instruction from the College of William and Mary, and an MA in counseling from Johnson State College. She taught sixth grade Science in Clinton, LA, with the Teach for America program, and worked at the Centerpoint School in Burlington.
When asked about working at TA, she notes, “Kids at TA are free to be themselves, and define themselves in a lot of different ways. This gives me the opportunity to work with students that are completely different from one another. I get to see kids make choices about their lives (both in and after high school) that are really diverse, and my students have taught me a lot about all the ways to enjoy life and make meaning of it.”
Rebecca enjoys gardening, cooking, and baking, which support her primary hobby—eating. She also loves to knit.
