Mark Weigel, Experiential

Mark Weigel has been a part of Thetford Academy for more than 25 years. He’s a graduate of the Lyndon Institute, an independent school in Lyndon, VT, and has a BS in physical education from Lyndon State College. He earned an M.Ed. from Southern New Hampshire University.

Mark first taught at Richford High School in Richford, VT. For two years, he was a full-time physical education teacher, also serving as athletic director, girls soccer coach, and boys JV basketball coach. When he left to join TA, Mark was honored to be asked to give the graduation address at his former school.

Working at TA has been a positive experience for Mark, who finds his students to be “kind, respectful, a lot of fun, and smart in many different ways.”

“Consider that the mind is capable of an endless growth.”—Asa Burton, one of the founders, urging citizens of Thetford to establish TA in 1819
