Karyn Neubauer

Visual Art and Yoga

Karyn Neubauer came to Thetford Academy by way of Woodstock High School in 2005. She received her BFA from UMass Dartmouth in fine arts and painting and her PreK-12 teaching credentials through the Upper Valley Educators Institute.

Karen is a registered yoga teacher and uses a curriculum called Kripalu Yoga in the Schools. She is also a working artist and lives in Newbury with her artist/teacher husband. “My experience as a teacher has enriched my life as an artist.”

When she reflects on the students at TA, two words come to mind: enthusiastic and kind. “There is a level of tolerance of others displayed here that I love to see, and gives me energy.”

“Consider that the mind is capable of an endless growth.”—Asa Burton, one of the founders, urging citizens of Thetford to establish TA in 1819
We set high expectations. We challenge all members of the school community to reach their highest potential.
Our mission is to celebrate the unique worth of all students, to nurture their strengths, and to challenge them to fulfill their potential.
