Jennifer Gernhard

Culinary Arts and Health Education

Jennifer Gernhard, a TA faculty member since 1997, has a long history of providing TA students with the necessary cooking and self-care skills critical to successful adulthood. She is a life-long learner herself, taking classes at King Arthur Flour’s baking center and, most recently, attended a pastry “Boot Camp” at the Culinary Institute of America.

Jennifer holds a degree in elementary education from the Mississippi University for Women and a BS in nutrition and dietetics from the University of New Hampshire.

According to Jennifer, TA students are active, capable, and engaged. “TA students are busy! They are three-season athletes, participating in plays and musical productions, robotics competitions, the geography bee, and Friends on Friday. From the Mr. TA Pageant to the Empty Bowl Project, timber framing to pastries, TA supports a wide range of activities that nurture the skills and interests of our students. ”

“Consider that the mind is capable of an endless growth.”—Asa Burton, one of the founders, urging citizens of Thetford to establish TA in 1819
We set high expectations. We challenge all members of the school community to reach their highest potential.
Our mission is to celebrate the unique worth of all students, to nurture their strengths, and to challenge them to fulfill their potential.
