Deb Sanders-Dame

Director of Special Education Services

Deb, a Kimball Union Academy graduate and active participant on KUA’s Alumni Council, earned her bachelor’s of science and master’s degrees in special education from Keene State College, completed the CAGS program in educational leadership at Plymouth State University, and earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Argosy University. She served as high school special education coordinator at Hillsboro-Deering High School (NH) from 2014-2016, director of student support services for the St. Johnsbury School District (VT) from 2008-2014, special education case manager and interim special education director for St. Johnsbury School District from 2004-2008, and a special education teacher at Blue Mountain Union School in Wells River, VT, from 1993-2004.

Through much of her tenure at Blue Mountain Union School, Deb served as a softball coach and student council advisor. During her decade at St. Johnsbury, she worked extensively with the students and staff at St. Johnsbury Academy, where she was highly regarded for her depth of knowledge and expertise.

Deb has served as school board member and chair for the Monroe, NH, school district. A luge competitor and Junior Olympic Medal recipient, Deb won the Luge National Masters Competition Silver Medal in 2016 and Bronze Medal in 2010, and was an alternate for the U.S. Olympic Luge Team in 1976, 1980 and 1984.
