Chris Schmidt

Design Technology and Outdoor Education

Chris Schmidt joined TA’s design technology department in 2012. Prior to coming to TA, Chris coached rowing at Dartmouth College for 12 years, worked as a timber framer for five years, and taught math for four years. He has his BA in English from Dartmouth College and his teaching certification and Master’s in Teaching from the Upper Valley Educators Institute.

In his design tech course at TA, Chris says, “The students often surprise me with their imaginative projects. They really create some fine work.”

Chris lives in Orford, NH, with his wife, Molly McHugh, and his dog, Jack, and cat, Mr. Whiskers.
