Angela Lavoy

Special Education Paraprofessional

Before joining the staff full time, Angela filled in as a substitute teacher at the Academy. In her spare time, she moonlights in publishing as a writer, proofreader, and copy editor. She also served on the board of the Vermont Book Professionals Association and East Corinth’s Blake Memorial Library.

Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Tulane University. Shortly after, the urge to travel hit and she eventually found herself in Paris, France where she had the good fortune to pursue her interest in ethnography and archeology at the Musée de l’Homme.

Vermont has been her home now for more than 20 years with her husband, Harvey and they are the parents of two daughters, Maya and Morgan, representing Thetford Academy’s class of 2014 and 2018, respectively.

“Consider that the mind is capable of an endless growth.”—Asa Burton, one of the founders, urging citizens of Thetford to establish TA in 1819
