This course introduces students to laboratory science in a variety of subjects. In the physical science portion of the course, students will explore the properties of matter, with an emphasis on making accurate metric measurements. Students will learn to design experiments, collect and record data, interpret results, and communicate their findings using scientific writing. Students will then apply physical science concepts as they study meteorology. In the life science portion of the course, students will be introduced to cell structure and function and the use of microscopes. Throughout the course there will be a focus on outdoor learning, with a goal of one class per week spent outside.
