They will formulate and implement strategies for effective argument by preparing and delivering speeches of argument and will become effective “consumers of argument” by evaluating arguments presented by others and by engaging in dialogue concerning those arguments. Students will develop and enhance research skills in preparing their argument. The goals of the course are to enhance student’s critical thinking skills and to develop proficiency in generating and constructing effective arguments.
