Conceptual Physical Science

This course is a laboratory-based introduction to the physical sciences in which emphasis is placed on proper laboratory safety and procedures. Topics in physics and chemistry include motion, energy, force, work, heat, and states of matter as well as the structure of the atom, chemical bonding, and the periodic table of the elements. This course also includes a unit on astronomy where students will have the opportunity to better understand the earth’s (and their own) place in the universe. In addition to individual and group research projects and labs, students will be challenged to complete engineering projects.
