Instrumental Music
Grade: 7-8
Credits: ARTS ROTATION

This course is designed for students with little or no experience on a musical instrument. Students will work out of a method book and learn proper playing technique, scales, music reading skills, and appropriate care of their instruments. Music from a variety of styles and eras will be explored and performed. Students will be expected to rehearse and perform with larger ensembles at two concerts per year, in December and May. Students will need to rent or purchase an instrument from a local instrument dealership. The band director will help and advise in the purchase. The school does have several band instruments that students may use if they have no other resources.
