Advanced Biology: Human Physiology & Genetics - Honors Course

Science
STEM | Science Elective
Grade: 11-12
Credits: 1

Advanced Biology is designed to allow students to gain deeper knowledge of biology through their immersion into the underlying principles of life. Students in advanced biology learn about the biological processes that control and regulate life. The course places particular emphasis on DNA as the “blueprint” of life, exploring its role and use as a delivery device for the biological information that drives evolution, as well as its contemporary role in medicine, industry, and forensic science. Students will engage in
a series of labs and independent projects to prepare themselves for college level work in science, biology, or a health-related field of study.
