Thetford Academy’s Bicentennial is about COMMUNITY. Thank you to all who came out and supported TA!
On February 9, 2019, TA celebrated its 200th birthday with the Bicentennial Gala, attended by nearly 200 Thetford Academy enthusiasts. The evening was set in a beautifully transformed Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium, and featured food prepared by TA’s own Casey Huling ’92 and Jennifer Gernhard and their students.
Members of TA’s Stage Band and Chorus provided dinner music and led attendees in both of Thetford Academy’s school songs.
The program included a short film highlighting some of TA’s historical figures written and produced by Dartmouth film student Jackson Cashman, and moving addresses by Martha Jane Rich and Stacy Thurston Barton ’99. It was a certainly night to remember.
We were so pleased to host so many alumni, parents, friends, trustees, and former trustees, all of whom have played an important role in the story of Thetford Academy’s success and longevity. The wonderful community spirit of our school was displayed in every part of the evening. At 200, TA is Vermont’s oldest secondary school. We reach this milestone with gratitude for you, our community, who have supported our mission year after year, generation after generation. As we begin our third century, we will continue to serve the Upper Valley with pride and a dedication to the traditions, values, and mission that have gotten us this far. Thank you!
