Thetford Academy maintains an open admission policy for area residents and seeks to admit a wide range of students from local communities. We have partnership agreements with Thetford and Strafford, VT, and Lyme, NH.
Thetford Academy also accepts students from other Upper Valley towns. In addition to students from our three partner towns, we have enrolled students from the towns of Corinth, Topsham, Hartland, Washington, Sharon, Chelsea, Vershire, Tunbridge, Woodstock, Brownsville, and Orange, VT, and Hanover, NH.
TA’s International Student Program accepts students from all over the world, with up to 10 students from China and other countries enrolled in grades 9-12.
How to Apply
Enrollment (Thetford, Strafford, Lyme Students)
All Thetford, Strafford, and Lyme students must complete an Enrollment Form which includes a School Records Release. Students from these partner towns are not required to complete a full application.
Application Process (All Other Students)
Interested students who wish to apply to Thetford Academy must complete the following:
All applicants from towns other than Thetford, Strafford, or Lyme must complete a Thetford Academy application. The application form is available online, or, if preferred, to download and print. Alternatively, interested families can contact our Admissions Director to request a hard copy application.
Thetford Academy requires a transcript or school report for at least the last three (3) years of the applicant’s schooling. We also request standardized testing results from the same time period. Applicants should direct their school administrator to complete the Transcript and School Records Request online or can download and print for submission by mail.
Applicants should request a reference from at least one teacher at their current school. This Teacher Reference form is available online or to download and print for submission by mail.
Once we receive all of the required documents, we will review your application or enrollment form and contact you with any questions. All applicants are encouraged to submit a complete application by March 1. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all spaces have been filled.
