Food Service Manager
Hailing from the DC metro area, David Cornwell has often taken the road less traveled. A graduate of Bates College and certified teacher via the University of Maine, Augusta, David’s interest in food led him to continue his education at La Varenne Culinary Institute in Paris, where he developed his expertise in the kitchen.
Before coming to Thetford 27 years ago, David traveled and cooked for celebrities and politicians, including Cab Calloway, Liv Ulman, and Ed Muskie. He prepared food for the film Joshua Then and Now, for Phil Rizzuto, and for the Dark Star Orchestra.
At TA, David loves his work. He enjoys seeing students each day in the café during their down time, and “finding out how extraordinarily talented they are in sports, academics, and the visual and performing arts.”
In his spare time, David enjoys golf, ornithology, oenology, foraging for wild foods, and sustainable, organic living.
