Alanna Carr

Special Education Paraprofessional

Alanna Carr joined the TA staff in 2015, continuing a career dedicated to student-centered teaching and supporting children of all ages and abilities. Prior to coming to Vermont, Alanna worked at a school for children with special needs in New Jersey. “In those four years in New Jersey, I learned so much about overcoming obstacles that seemed impossible.”

Alanna has quickly become a part of the TA community. She shares that her favorite thing about working with students here is “how kind, understanding, and accepting they are.”

One of four children, Alanna grew up in New Jersey. She has two cats, Dexter and Moon Unit, and likes to read, write, hike, and take pictures in her spare time.

“Consider that the mind is capable of an endless growth.”—Asa Burton, one of the founders, urging citizens of Thetford to establish TA in 1819
