William Howarth Collection
Environmental Literature

Professor Howarth was my Senior Thesis advisor in college and at that time was in charge of editing Henry David Thoreau's journals. I chose to write my thesis on Thoreau and was very fortunate to have someone with such expertise helping me with my project. I ran into Prof. Howarth at an environmental symposium in 2001 and he was interested in knowing what I had been doing since college. When he found out that I was a school librarian he generously offered to donate seed money to begin this collection of environmental literature for Thetford Academy.
