Thetford Academy’s yearbook is developed and produced by TA students in Student Publications. In the Yearbook course, students learn the basics of design, publishing, marketing and sales as they develop the Thetford Academy yearbook for publication and distribution. Students learn to use software for image and photo editing, desktop publishing, and accounting, while learning about effective marketing and sales strategies.
Students in Yearbook are responsible for the book’s content and design, and work with the publisher through rounds of editing and proofing to take their yearbook to its final publication. Successful participation in yearbook requires students to develop skills in organization, self-direction, problem solving, and leadership. Yearbook is scheduled for one half-block each semester. A student may sign up for ½ credit (one half-block in either semester) or for 1 credit (two semesters).
