Woods Trail Run - October 3, 2015
23 YEARS AND RUNNING
WOODS TRAIL RUN: One of our community's largest and finest traditions, Woods Trail Run gathers the best of New England's junior high and high school runners in TA's beautiful mountain setting, where shear effort, grit and determination prevails, and Chariots of Fire-inspired finishes are the norm.
This year, the challenging, state-of-the-art cross country trail, designed by John Morton and made possible by Dan and Dana Grossman and 198 volunteers back in 1991, drew over 2,200 runners from nearly 100 schools in six New England States plus New York and New Jersey.
Ideal running conditions - moderate temperatures, overcast skies, and a dry trail - contributed to a day of records. Congratulations to Christian Alvarado of Fairfield (CT) Prep (16:04), who won the boys race and shaved off 30 seconds from the course record.
Here is a sampling of photographs, taken by junior Gannon Walsh (first 14 photos), Dan Grossman (next 19 photos), and Bill Bugg (last 14 photos).
