Admissions

As Vermont’s oldest secondary school, Thetford Academy has prepared students for success for over 200 years. An independent school with a public purpose, TA believes that education should be inclusive and personalized; and that every student deserves to be inspired, challenged, and supported.

Thetford Academy offers big opportunities in a small-school setting. TA students can choose from more than 100 academic courses. They can dive into the subjects that inspire them–through rich electives, honors options, independent study, and college courses.

Student life at TA is as vibrant and diverse as our 300+ students. More than 20 active clubs represent a wide range of student interests and talents; and TA’s three-season, Division III athletics includes soccer, baseball, softball, track and field, basketball, cross country, and downhill skiing.

Nondiscrimination Policy

Thetford Academy complies with all applicable state and federal nondiscrimination statutes, including the Vermont Public Accommodations Act (9 V.S.A. Chapter 139), the Vermont Fair Employment Practices Act (21 V.S.A. Chapter 5, Subchapter 6) and Vermont State Board of Education rules 2226.6 and 2229.1.
