Girls Soccer Defeats Winooski 6-0 in First Round of the Playoffs

TA’s 1st-seed varsity girls defeated 16th-seed Winooski 6-0 in the opening round of the VPA Division III playoffs yesterday (Wednesday, Oct. 23). On a cold, damp, windy afternoon on TA’s lower soccer field, the Panthers dominated from the start, racking up five goals in the first half before adding their sixth in the second half. 

Scoring for the Panthers were Lily Brown, Kiana Johnson, Casey MacVeagh (2), Madi Powers, and Becca Wells, with assists from Kiran Black, Geneva Horster, Kiana Johnson, and Ellen Veracka.

The Panthers take on number nine-seed Stowe in the quarterfinals at home tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 25).  Game time is 3 p.m.  Earlier this season, TA defeated Stowe 1-0 at Stowe.
