TA Presents Spring Musical, Annie: May 17-19

Thetford Academy’s Musical Theater class proudly presents, Anniedirected by Jenn Langhus and produced by Ray Chapin

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.  The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including “Tomorrow,” “Easy Street,” “N.Y.C.” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.”

Little Orphan Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt!  

TA’s production includes a live band, featuring Da-Shih Hu, Tim Cohen, and Whit Van Meter, Tom Norton, Greg Mellinger, and Emma Bauer.  Costumes by TES art teacher, Beth McGee, and set by Cami Buster.  

Shows are at 7 p.m. in the MJR Theater on Thursday, May 17Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19.  Admission is $5 at the door.
