Alumni Association Funds TA Academic, Athletic, and Arts Programs

Each year, the Thetford Academy Alumni Association (TAAA) organizes several major fundraisers for the benefit of TA students. Through their extraordinary efforts, they raise thousands of dollars by running the concessions at the Woods Trail Run and Vermont Cross Country Championships and by hosting the annual Alumni Holiday Craft Bazaar.

This fall, TA faculty submitted funding proposals for the alumni association’s consideration, and at its January meeting TAAA reviewed the proposals and dispersed just over $7,000 from their earnings, as follows:
  • $500 for Founder’s Night
  • $200 for the Musical
  • $770 for Special Education (math manipulatives, projector, Apple TV)
  • $2,000 for Culinary Arts (four 5-Quart Tilt Heat Stand Mixers)
  • $600 for the Library (3D printer and filament )
  • $2,000 for Athletics (outdoor speaker for upper soccer field scoreboard, metal soccer benches, softball pants)
  • $1,000 for Social Studies (MacBook computer)
TAAA may still be able to provide support for up to two additional projects later this year. The faculty and staff of Thetford Academy appreciates TAAA’s generosity, which is already benefitting our students. See above for one of Jennifer Gernhard’s Culinary Arts classes operating a new mixer.
